On Safari

It’s been so long since I wrote poetry in digital
Ever since I accidentally busted Roshi’s fiddle
I offended The Angry Gods with my riddle
Now I’m stuck here in the down and dirty middle

Between Heaven and Hell
Some kind of other-worldly cell
Sorry, mama, so sorry I fell
I don’t know if we’ll live to tell

Back into the jungle, I’m on safari
No regrets, now I forge ahead
I wanted to die, but fell asleep instead
And awaken with sunshine in my head
Until we’re dead eating our daily bread
